Boardwalk Homeless Update

The Venice V is in the heart of Venice, located right on the iconic boardwalk where you experience all walks of life. Amid the pandemic, shelters were forced to turn un-homed individuals away due to over-crowding and a respect for safety measures — this was particularly felt in West LA and on the Venice Boardwalk.  Fortunately, with vaccines on the rise and local governments’ direct attention on the issue, the situation has improved and is improving every day with active solutions being found to help these communities in need.  Currently, hundreds of un-homed individuals are being offered at least six months of temporary housing with social services, along with vouchers to help them then move to a more permanent location.  While drastic and immediate changes have been made, it remains a work in progress and we are grateful for your patience and empathy.

We are also very cognizant that we are a reflection of our city and want to give back as much as possible:  Our Dogtown rooms display skateboards made from the Garage Board Shop, an organization based in Los Angeles focusing on education based programs for at risk youth, with part of the proceeds going directly back to the organization; 10% of our pet fee is donated to the Best Friends Animal Society; and as part of our charitable initiative, we have turned our focus toward helping to bring support, resources, and energy toward lowering rates of homelessness in our beloved city.
